Description:

EVERARD HOME
(1756 - 1832) British physician and a pupil of his brother-in-law, John Hunter. He assisted Hunter in many of his anatomical investigations, and in the autumn of 1776 he partly described Hunter's collection. There is also considerable evidence that Home plagiarized the work of Hunter and destroyed his Hunter's papers in order to hide the evidence. Manuscript D.S. 1p. 4to., London, Aug. 20, 1787, certification that a student had "attended one Summer course of Mr. Hunters Lectures on the Theory and principles of Surgery...". Folds, slight soiling, else very good.
