LOCK OF MARILYN MONROE'S HAIR
MARILYN MONROE (1926-1962) Famed American actress and model, well known for playing 'dumb blonde' characters. An interesting relic, a lock of roughly 96 strands of Monroe's hair well preserved in a 1 x 1.5 in. glass case. Another identical glass case features an image of the actress. Both are housed in a small box labeled by her hairdresser Kenneth Battelle, famous as 'Mister Kenneth.' Batelle was known as the world's first celebrity hairdresser, and in addition to Marilyn Monroe, he counted Audrey Hepburn and Jacqueline Kennedy as his clients. He worked mostly in New York City, from the 1950s until his death in 2013. Small photo on top of the box features Kenneth Battelle and Monroe. The boxes with the hair and small photos do show their age of their fifty years. Overall good condition.
