NAZI WAR CRIMINALS: "ASHCAN" INTERROGATION EPHEMERA
Mimeographed typescript, 8pp. legal folio stamped "SECRET", "SUPREME HEADQUARTERS ALLIED EXPEDITIONARY FORCE" July 7, 1945 a memorandum concerning "Weekly Roster No. 6 of 'ASHCAN' Internees as at 6 July 1945". "ASHCAN" was the code name for the Palace Hotel in Fromburg, Luxembourg where the top captured Nazi war criminals were incarcerated until they stood trial in Nuremburg including Goering, Jodl, Keitel, von Ribbentrop, Streicher, Kesserling, Donitz and many others. The report lists interrogation reports on a variety of subjects including Walter Funk, Dr. Karl Brandt, Julius Streicher, Johannes Blaskowitz, Hermann Goering, Wilhelm Frick, Franz Ritter von Epp, and many others. Offered together with a 4pp. legal folio memorandum, "FORWARD HEADQUARTERS", June 16, 1945, marked "SECRET" providing instructions for interrogating top Nazi war criminals in custody. Both documents bear the usual folds, light toning, else very good condition.
