Description:

The Beatles Ed Sullivan Show Photographs from Original Negatives (6)
Renowned photojournalist Ken Regan was at the very outset of his career when he captured these images of The Beatles on Feb. 8, 1964, the day prior to the group's first historic appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. Included here are six b/w 8" x 10"s: 1) early afternoon rehearsal with road manager Neil Aspinall standing in for an ailing George so the camera crew and director could plan their shots. The backdrop set spelling out "The Beatles" was ultimately scrapped, 2) another rehearsal shot with Neil Aspinall, this time with the backdrop set used during the second segment of the next evening's telecast, 3 & 4) mid-afternoon photos with Ed Sullivan including George, whose strep throat and high temperature had subsided, and 5 & 6) two shots taken during their noontime trip to Central Park. Each photo is stamped with Ken Regan's Camera 5 Inc. photo stamp. These particular photos were printed in 1983. All are NRMT/MT.
