Rare soft service cap of the "Sturmabteilung", or SA, constructed of brown cotton twill with a sewn-on orange-yellow wool upper, indicating the "Gau Mitte" administrative region. This colored area is trimmed with braided aluminum bullion piping, while the flap edges below are also trimmed with a flat "tresse" of aluminum bullion ribbon, its dimensions indicating the rank of "standartenfuhrer". A silver pebbled metal button is fitted at front, beneath a bright shell metal national eagle insignia. A band of red wool appears below the flaps, hidden from view by the flaps and chin strap during wear. A brown leather chin strap with two sliding buckles is secured over the bill by a black metal button on each side. The interior is fitted with a brown leather sweatband and lined with treated brownish-yellow cloth with a partial diamond-shaped celluloid sweat shield at center. Shows damage to said sweat shield, with notable wear and soiling to the interior commensurate with use, with one pin of the eagle insignia detached but retained by the fabric of the cap, else very good.
