(1852-1943) Physician, surgeon and avid advocate of health reform as dictated by the Seventh Day Adventists, Kellogg, along with brother Will invented and popularized the corn flake, revolutionizing American breakfast habits. Uncommon T.L.S. on his Battle Creek Sanatorium letterhead, 1p. 4to., Battle Creek, Aug. 22, 1924, to C. H. Wheelock, in part: "...I have authorized Miss Wells to go ahead and prepare a nice luncheon for picnic. As regards the friends accompanying the old people, in many cases it will be really necessary...make sure we have an abundance for all...". Boldly signed and very good.
