OIL PAINTING OF ROBERT MORRIS Impressive academic oil on canvas painting of Signer Robert Morris measuring 28" x 45", showing the financier and politician in a full standing view. This is a quite well-accomplished work, with Morris regarding the viewer as he is about to enter a columned building, his right hand clutching legal papers and a book, his left hand resting atop his cane and holding a tri-cornered hat. We have been unable to detect the artist's name, but the painting appears to date from the late nineteenth century. No repairs are evident, canvas remains taught, set into a period frame. An attractive item for a financial or Revolutionary War collector.
