ROBERT MORRIS (1734 - 1806) Signer of the Declaration of Independence, financier and politician. Morris was instrumental in the financing of Washington's armies, and was later financially ruined through his speculation in western lands. War-date, superb content A.L.S. as Superintendent of Finance for the Continental Congress, 1p., 4to, Philadelphia, June 19, 1781, to Mr. John Hudson of Baltimore concerning overdue bills.
